Day 5…
I have promised daily posts, and here we are. I’d like to thank Duolingo for instilling the fear of “breaking the streak” in me!! IYKYK.
I briefly touched upon this in my About Me… rhere is SO much knowledge out there surrounding health and wellness - where does one start!?
Well, a bit like starting a blog… you just have to start somewhere! The rest you’ll figure out along the way ;)
I actually wrote a book a few years ago, but could never quite publish it, as it felt too ‘set in stone’ for me. On this journey I’m on (i.e., life), I am learning new things every day, and a book didn’t feel quite right… I want to be able to come back to things I’ve discussed and amend, comment, clarify, etc.
I also find keeping a rolling public record (i.e., Substack blog - obvi) of my journey helps keep me accountable, make sense of it all, and hopefully help and connect with others who are on a similar journey! I find that writing (particularly daily) encourages reflection, and provides me with something that I can refer to forever - something that enables me to reflect and identify patterns of what’s working for me and what ain’t!
So, to wrap it up: how do I make sense of it all?! I give it a go! I see what works for me and what doesn’t. I write it down. I reflect. And, most importantly, I don’t fear taking steps back, changing my mind, and admitting I might’ve been wrong.
I once read that a great sign of intelligence is being able to hold your hands up and say “you know that thing I said? Yeh well, I no longer agree with that and this is what I’ve since learnt”. Yeh, I definitely just called myself intelligent… and I’m okay with that!
We’re learning / changing always, and that’s the beauty of it! Whoever said that a leopard doesn’t change their spots was wrong*! *terms & conditions absolutely apply!!
Now, that may sound a bit woo-woo, so for those looking for a more practical answer, here it is: I will work to break down my learnings into four pillars: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Four pillars that I believe need to work in sync for the full "voila" effect, so I will do my very best to prioritise them all equally.
